Liberty, Equality, Fraternity!
After the storming of the Bastille began the French Revolution, Lafayette suggested that citizens pair red and blue, the colors of Paris, with white - the color of France's royalty. Thus the tricolor cockade was born!
Satin ribbon, satin-covered button, hand-sewn to a buckram backing. Approximately 2" (5 cm) across rosette. Pin back is silver-plated and 1" (2.5 cm) long.
